About Cathy
Cathy earned a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University's School of Art in Richmond, VA. She initially worked as a graphic artist with a packaging and printing background. She now dedicates time to pursue her passion for painting and illustration. Cathy is comfortable in various mediums, such as watercolor, acrylics, and oils. She brings her printing and illustration expertise to the table to lay the foundation for blending color and form, giving rise to new possibilities in her work. Her focus is exploring the relationship between light and color and how they interact with objects to create something fascinating.
Cathy has spent years traveling between the Outer Banks and her home in Virginia, drawing inspiration for her painting subjects along the way. Now, she enjoys a full-time residence in the Outer Banks with her husband and studio partner, Remi, their beagle.
The Why
My work reflects my journey as an artist. All the struggles and risks I take in challenging my abilities and the satisfaction of completion are on display.
While I aim for consistency, I take pride in knowing that each creation is one-of-a-kind original art. My vision as an artist is to create something extraordinary that resonates with someone and offers them a moment of contemplation and joy.
